The stars and galaxy as seen from Rocky Mountain National Park.
The stars and galaxy as seen from Rocky Mountain National Park.

I stand on the board, waiting to be unmoored.

But I hold tight to the light.

I fight for what’s right.

Stiff I stand, next to the marching band.

Red roses prune, and women swoon.

I am no loon; I listen to the moon.

Battles are won under the blistering sun.

But only at night, do the stars get it right.

They show me the things which you can’t see.

Demons of greed.

Wealth with speed.

Bloody hands.

Shifting sands.

Black and white.

That skirt is too tight.

Boundaries cast in foundries.

But I am the King Pin,

And I refuse to be boxed in.
